Author. Illustrator. Cowboy?
I have a degree in English, a love for reading, four children, and a desire to bring all three together when I write. I have a lot of experience with children's books, especially telling my children that the one they just picked is way too long; “sorry Johnny, that 80-page book is not in the cards tonight.” But I'm convinced (or at least strongly suspect) that reading books to your children can be fun for everyone. My approach is to write books that can be read in a couple of minutes, will make everyone laugh, and will be enjoyable every time you read them. Sound too good to be true? It probably is, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I feel way too confident that I can pull it off. Either way, I love the challenge of trying!
I also love westerns, cowboy boots, eating beans off a tin plate, and being able to light a match off the side of my whiskered, leathery face. In my previous life, I am convinced I was a real cowboy. So if things go well with my books, I plan to buy some land in Wyoming, get myself a Stetson hat and a mustache, and become the cowboy I like to imagine I am.
